Liminal, where we rest when the sun is between the days
And the nights between the seasons
An embodiment of shifting spaces – night to day, heads and tails, before and after, the intertwining of opposites. Woven across the pandemic as paradigms shift, possible futures dancing in the mist
The draft and supporting algorithm for Liminal is inspired by the d20 (aka twenty sided die), and each row of pixels is derived from a series of random numbers which are fed into a function, creating a probabilistic gradient. The result is a two sided cloth that is seamed in two panels, creating a cloth that shows both sides at once in a unified gradient, with even odds at the center seam. No two yards are the same.
