Midnight In June

Midnight in June is an homage to the quiet moments in our parenting journey, the contrast of the solitude of night against the fullness of our days. This piece was a one of a kind full custom, and the collaboration was rife with synchronicity and celebration of the dark midnights of our own souls, the beauty found there, and not least of all a mutual love of purple. I have been honored to make this piece – learning from my customer about her tribe’s traditions of ikat and the sanctity of dreams, trying and trying again after midnight epiphanies about my process. Like much of my weaving journey I am reminded that I am a child learning to walk in the path of generations of graceful dancers. Midnight In June has carried me deeper into my love of weaving, of seeing the manifestations in yarn of a (collaborative) vision, and I am grateful.
