BeSides is a cowl warp, submitted alongside Chromatic (chromatic.catscradletextiles.com) as my submission to Loom To Wrap’s 3rd birthday weaver exhibition. BeSides is a two sided grad (purple to cream on one side and green to pale blue on the other). The two sides are able to swap places at intervals, depending on treadling used, and I highlighted this fact in the finished cowl by sewing it together as a mobius, which changes color exactly once (and not at the seam!) I designed the draft for BeSides myself, inspired by a feature of machine woven wraps I miss sometimes – the ability to completely change the look of a piece by flipping rails or starting with the “wrong” side out.
